Aegis Protocol – AI Agent Accountability Layer
On-chain accountability layer for AI agents built at ETHGlobal Open Agents (Ghent, May 2026). Any agent can prove what it decided, why it decided it, and face consequences if it was wrong — using 0G Storage, Gensyn AXL mesh, ENS CCIP-read, and KeeperHub automation.
Context
AI agents increasingly make consequential decisions autonomously. Without a transparent audit trail and enforceable accountability, there is no way to verify what an agent did, why it did it, or impose consequences for violations. Aegis acts as a witness, verifier, and on-chain court for any agent framework.
Challenge
Building a production-grade decentralized accountability system at a hackathon: four independent AXL nodes communicating over a peer-to-peer mesh, 0G Storage for cryptographic decision proofs, a deterministic 5-rule mandate engine with TEE verification, ENS cross-chain reputation via EIP-3668 CCIP-read, and a live dashboard — all deployed and accessible to judges.
Solution
Architected four AXL nodes (Witness, Verifier, Propagator, Memory) over the Gensyn Yggdrasil mesh. Witness nodes upload attestations to 0G Storage with real merkle rootHashes. The Verifier runs a 5-rule mandate engine and notarizes verdicts via 0G Compute TEE. AegisCourt.sol records verdicts on-chain, KeeperHub fires remedy workflows, and each agent gets a *.aegis.eth ENS subname with live reputation readable from Ethereum via EIP-3668 CCIP-read — no bridge required.
